modify Excel Sheets and generate emails through Outlook

Hello All,

New C# user and looking for some pointers on the best way to get a project started. I have excel sheets with data on them. I want to build a C# app that will take those sheets, create some calculated fields, and then generate emails through Outlook to be sent. Can someone kindly point me in the direction to get this started?

There is a good (but simple) example on the Microsoft website "Use COM Interop to Create an Excel Spreadsheet"

If you change this:

Workbook wb = xlApp.Workbooks.Add(XlWBATemplate.xlWBATWorksheet);

to :

Workbook wb = xlApp.Workbooks.Open(@"c:\temp\Map1.xlsx");

It will open an existing excel sheet.
