I'm trying to add a prefix (like Question, Tip, etc.) to the title of an existing thread. Is there a way to do this without creating a new thread?
Any help or guidance would be appreciated!

If you're within the time frame that you can edit a post you could edit your original/top post and change the thread prefix.

If there’s any other way to update the prefix after the edit period has expired (for example, by contacting a moderator), I’d really appreciate any advice. Thanks in advance!

You would have to ask a moderator to do it. It's not that critical of an item and should not affect the activity if the post has a good title for the question.

Thank you for the clarification, Neal! 🙏

I understand that changing the prefix requires moderator assistance and that it’s not a critical issue as long as the post title clearly reflects the question. I’ll keep that in mind.

Appreciate your help!

For the record, you can use the 'Report' button under your post to send a message to the mods. That's usually done to notify us of a problematic post from someone else but it can also be used to ask us to modify your own post if you can't edit it.

Also note that you don't have to explicitly change the prefix to 'Resolved' when you issue is resolved. There's a dedicated button at the top of the thread on the right to do that.

I wasn’t aware that the 'Report' button could be used to contact moderators for editing my own post. I’ll make sure to use it if I need any help with modifications in the future.

Really appreciate your guidance!
