Need Help with developing software for swim coaches

Hi!

I want to build a tool for swimcoaches. And I need someone to help me with it. Someone to tell me, where to start, which database to use, give hints on programming and helping to make the code pretty.

When we build some cool methods, i will post them here to give the community something back.

I will not sale the application, as swim coaches don't earn very much.

Please help me
