Microsoft will retire its old certifications like MCSA and MCSD on 31 January 2021. Microsoft plans to introduce new role-based certifications to replace these older certifications.

Which newer, role-based certification is for C#/.NET ?

The two certifications that you should consider are the Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate and the Microsoft Certified: Developer Associate. The Azure Developer Associate certification focuses on developing cloud-based applications using Microsoft Azure services, while the Developer Associate certification covers developing, testing, and maintaining applications using Microsoft technologies.

As of my last knowledge update in January 2022, Microsoft has been transitioning from older, product-focused certifications like MCSA and MCSD to a role-based certification model. One of the role-based certifications relevant to C#/.NET development is the **Microsoft Certified: .NET Developer Associate**.

This certification is designed for software developers who build modern applications using C# and .NET. It validates skills in designing, testing, and maintaining code using best practices, as well as proficiency in implementing security and data solutions.

Keep in mind that Microsoft's certification offerings may evolve, and new certifications might be introduced. For the latest and most accurate information, I recommend checking the official [Microsoft Certification website] (Credentials).
